The essence of heli hiking is to experience the beauty of the mountains on two feet, but to get there as effortlessly as a bird on the wing.
Our hikes are tailored to all levels of fitness, experience and age. This is a customized trip for you or your group. Your input will determine the daily flights and hikes. You have a choice of going guided and outfitted, or of simply contracting our logistical support.
The Advanced Explorer
6 days for those who like to fly, walk, hike, explore, and maybe sleep under the stars, waking up within the sight of a glacier – an estimated 12 hours in the helicopter (not minutes but hours)

The Adventurer
8-10 days during which we will fly over breathtaking scenery and do a great deal of exploring on foot while camping amongst a most amazing nature. – an estimated 9 hours in the helicopter

Every trip starts with a charter flight in a bush plane from either:
- Ft. Simpson, NWT
- Norman Wells, NWT
- Whitehorse, Yukon
- Watson Lake, Yukon
We will arrange this charter flight for you but it is payable directly to the charter company. Prices vary depending on location chosen, size of plane and the option of sharing the flight with others. Starting prices should be calculated at CAN$ 5000 for a plane for a return flight. Please inquire about current pricing.
On a guided trip the helicopter will drop you off at the end of a day of flying and sightseeing. A camp will then be established with simple dome tents and light backpacking gear. From here you will hike the breathtaking land of the greater South Nahanni area, in a place that the civilized mind cannot fathom. You may wander with the caribou, in silence and solitude and emptiness, in the incredible world of true wilderness far away from any human trace, a forgotten land of nowhere. It’s an endless country of pure beauty at every step and vista, a wild place of hundreds of thousands of acres of undulating mountain ranges.
Some of the places might bear a famous name: South Nahanni, Virginia Falls, the karsts of the Ram Plateau, the Cirque of the Unclimbables, Rabbit Kettle Hotsprings; but mostly this country is unnamed, unvisited, unknown; lying there cloaked in its own beauty, beckoning with camp spots and making you want to hike and hike and see.
The helicopter will ferry you from one such camping and hiking location to the next, always taking time for more sightseeing stops in between.

Accommodations
Heated cabin, or tent while out exploring.
Food & Beverage
Home cooked meals in base camp, picnic lunches during the day, and backpacker food while camping. All beverages, including alcoholic. We certainly cater to those with food allergies or dietary restrictions of all forms.
Flying and Guiding
Our helicopters and pilots are licensed commercially and maintained as per government requirements. Trips can be guided or unguided according to your specifications.

All equipment is provided by us. An equipment list for your personal gear will be sent to you.
